Watercolor paper comes in many shades. You can choose between watercolor paper in 100% cotton, or the more economical version in wood fibers. You can choose from different surfaces, thicknesses and colors. Watercolor paper in 100% cotton is available with 3 surfaces. 1. Rough, Rough surface 2. Cold pressed, medium fine surface and 3. Hot pressed, completely smooth surface.
The three different papers absorb the watercolor color differently, and therefore it will be a matter of taste which one you like best to work with. Watercolor paper in wood fibers can be a good beginner's block, or as a sketch pad for watercolors. Most important of all is that your block is about 300g and acid free, you will find it here.
