The story behind Stabilo
Stabilo was founded in Nuremberg in 1855 and was acquired by the Schwanhäusser family in 1865. They began using the iconic swan logo and became known as Schwan Bleistift Fabrik. The company offered three pencil collections at the time: Stabilo for demanding consumers, Othello for the general market and Swano for children without harmful substances.
In 1976, the company changed its name to Schwan-Stabilo as a tribute to the Schwanhäusser family. Today, Stabilo products are manufactured in Germany, Malaysia and the Czech Republic. With a long history in writing instruments, Stabilo has earned recognition for their innovative and reliable products that meet the diverse writing needs of consumers around the world.
