The linen plate with measurements and weights originally comes from the back of notebooks. In the past we used the 10 number system, but then memorisation disappeared. However, we are confident that the slightly older child will gain a greater knowledge of how we measure and weigh, what the system is like and, most importantly, gain a ready knowledge. It's difficult stuff, so a chat with mum or dad over dinner about how 1 kg is 1000 g or that 10 dl is needed for 1 litre will make it easier to understand. When you can see the system on the Lærlet plate at the same time, you have made a positive contribution to your child's learning in a very simple way.
