NORMA Blue is a virtually odorless, water-mixable oil paint. Since it contains no solvents, the paint is ideal for indoor use, even without a dedicated studio. The 48 high-quality colors make it easy to get started with oil painting: they are simple to use, easy to clean up, and vegan, containing no cobalt, cadmium, or zinc oxide pigments. People with allergies will also appreciate that the paints contain no preservatives.

As genuine oil paints of the finest quality, the colors are equally suitable for all oil painting techniques, and the series has a rich, buttery consistency with a lightfastness rating of 4 to 5 across the entire range.

About Schmincke

Schmincke was founded in 1881 by the paint chemists Josef Horadam and Hermann Schmincke in Germany. The company’s first product was the oil paint “Mussini,” developed based on traditional resin-oil paint recipes from the Italian artist Cesare Mussini. In 1892, Josef Horadam developed a new type of liquid-cast watercolor, which he named after himself—the cornerstone of what is now the Horadam Aquarell series. More than 140 years later, Schmincke is still guided by the company motto “Meliora cogito” (I strive for the best), and Horadam Aquarell remains one of the most highly regarded watercolor lines among professional artists worldwide.
