The Da Vinci Dry Brush set has been developed for the dry-brushing technique used in miniature painting, which miniature painters employ to simulate rust, dirt, and weathering, as well as to highlight wood grain or the appearance of steel and fabric. These effects have become increasingly popular in the world of miniature painting, and Da Vinci has therefore, in collaboration with leading specialists from this growing market, developed a selection of 4 different brushes: Series 140 flat in sizes 6 and 8, Series 143 round, and Series 145 filbert.
The brushes are made of white synthetic fibers that mimic natural goat hair and feature black, matte hexagonal handles. The advantage over traditional natural-hair brushes is that the fibers are more durable; they do not break even after intensive use, ensuring a long brush life. The set includes one of each: Series 140, size 6; Series 143; and Series 145.
The brushes feature a lacquered wood handle ( Short ) and a silver ferrule ( Ferulle ), providing a sturdy and precise grip. Designed specifically for miniatures.
